The “Victors” series is a very straightforward project. It is easy to understand – a simple, strong idea. It consists of digital prints depicting pregnant sportswomen in highly challenging positions, in those special quick moments when they are “born” as winners.
In their pregnancy there is something symbolic. I see a connection between sport winners and future mothers. It should remind us that even though some think that there is nothing more simple than a childbirth, for both parents it is like winning a race for which they trained hard (physically and mentally) for a long time. Delivering a child is like no less challenging than taking part in a world tournament or the Olympic Games. It is like winning a golden medal.
